I came to Door County on a student work visa. I have worked at several locations in Sister Bay.
My family consists of five people; my father Sarvat, my mother Rana, my older sister Tarana, my younger sister Mahbuba and myself. My father is a master cabinetmaker. He has a business. My mother is a housewife. I am the middle child of my family; my older sister is a year older than me and my younger sister is three years younger than me.
My country is Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan is located on the border of Eastern Europe and Western Asia. It is part of the Caucasus region and is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia and Turkey to the west and Iran to the south.
Azerbaijan is a small country, but we have beautiful nature. We have a good climate – neither too hot nor too cold. Baku is the capital of Azerbaijan. We have a holiday called Novruz; it is celebrated in the spring. We also have national foods. Some are called dolma made from lamb, ash made from rice and kebab made from meat, fish or chicken.
In Baku, I studied at Azerbaijan Economic University. I have a degree in marketing. My future plan is – perhaps – to work for McKinsey Company as a business analyst. In addition, I have a talent for design. In the past, I worked as a graphic designer. Sometimes I would like to be a freelance graphic designer.
I love to learn new things – about the world, about technology and about science. I also try to spend time alone. I like to be alone for an hour a day to meditate. I like to travel too, but before I travel I need more money and information. I want to visit many countries!
I love nature and have fallen in love with nature here in Door County. The people here are nice and kind.
