WALPOLE, NH – The Brattleboro Museum & Art Center is hosting its Fall Gala on Friday, September 24 at 6 p.m. at Alyson’s Orchard. The event will include drinks, appetizers and desserts; a silent live auction of art, wine and vacation getaways; and live music and dancing.
The event will provide guests with the opportunity to celebrate and thank longtime Chief Curator and former Director of BMAC, Mara Williams, who will be retiring at the end of 2021 after more than 30 years of service at BMAC.
Brattleboro-based caterer A Vermont Table will offer appetizers and desserts. The wines were specially selected by David Howell, Walpole resident, former BMAC board member and co-author of âThe Winemaker’s Dance: Exploring Terroir in the Napa Valleyâ. Howell also purchased a number of rare wines for auction at the event, several of which have achieved cult status among wine connoisseurs, including a magnum of ‘The Flight’ by Screaming Eagle 2018 from a value of $ 2,500.
The silent and live auctions will also feature original artwork and crafts from Isabelle Abramson, Josh and Marta Bernbaum, Christie Herbert, Darren Honey, Julia Jensen, Wolf Kahn, Evie Lovett, Rachel Portesi and others. It will include getaways, art and music lessons, tickets to sporting events, and more. Online auctions are available at brattleboromuseum.org.
Tickets cost $ 75 per person or $ 500 for a table of eight and can be purchased at www.brattleboromuseum.org or by calling (802) 257-0124, ext. 101. All proceeds will be used to fund the museum’s education programs and its work for emerging and under-represented artists and curators.
