KTRK-TV, the Disney-owned station in Houston, TX, is looking for a versatile, ethical, and empathetic reporter who enjoys digging into and undertaking lead stories.

We want a self-contained creator and storyteller who can work effectively with a wide range of staff to create compelling, high-impact content across all platforms. Candidates must have a passion for finding out and reporting the facts, and with integrity above all else. The versatile journalist should be a dynamic communicator and strong leader, able to authentically engage and connect with a diverse audience. The person will have the ability to move the audience between linear and digital platforms. The versatile reporter will participate in the editorial decision-making process regarding story assignments, researching topics featured in story assignments, researching topics featured in stories, and developing community relationships to broaden the focus. diversity of voices in our narration.

Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a medium-sized market
Mastery of the AP style

Must be flexible with working hours (late evenings, overnight stays. Weekends and holidays) and adaptable to change.

Education required:
College diploma or equivalent
