At the annual Build a conferencethe company announced the preview of Microsoft Power Pages as a standalone software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform product that enables anyone, regardless of technical background, to build modern, data-driven websites and secure.

Previously, Power Pages existed as a feature in Power Apps called Power Apps portals, which allowed users to simply create and customize external portals, including editing pages, layouts, and content. Although it’s designed for users without coding skills, it integrates with Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, and GitHub, allowing developers to leverage these code-centric tools for more complex functionality.

Finally, Power Pages allows users to implement role-based access controls and web application firewalls through Azure and collect and share business information with site visitors through Microsoft. dataverse platform.

With Power Pages, Microsoft will compete with other website offerings that don’t require any coding skills, such as Wix and square space. Additionally, by expanding its low-code portfolio with Power Pages, the company will try to stay ahead of its public cloud competitors AWS and Google and several vendors like Salesforce, Mendix, and Outsystem with their low-code products.

In a Microsoft Power page blog post, Charles LamannaCorporate Vice President, Applications and Enterprise Platform, said:

People often think that low-code web development is good for basic projects like a site to showcase a business profile or as an e-commerce platform for other content. But with Power Pages, you can do that and more, like supporting enterprise-grade professional solutions at scale.
