Prayagraj: Two artists from Sangam town will be awarded the National Fine Arts Award at the 62nd National Art Exhibition to be organized by the National Academy of Fine Arts at Lalit Kala Akademi, New Delhi from April 9. Both are among 20 artists to be honored with awards.
Giving the information, art critic and curator Bhupendra Kumar Asthana said the process of selecting the artists’ works for the coveted award is in two phases. In the first phase, from the photographs of the artists and in the second phase, the original works are selected for the national prize. All selected artifacts are presented in the exhibition. The works of two young artists from Prayagraj, one of whom died in 2020, would be exhibited in this exhibition. The work of young painter Dheeraj Yadav titled ‘Untitled 01’ in Mixmedia has been selected for the exhibition. For 6 years, living in the state capital, Lucknow, Yadav has been making new experiences in his artistic creation. He has participated in numerous national and international art exhibitions and has been honored with state and national awards.
On the other hand, the photograph taken by Jalaj Yadav, who was a shadow painter, titled ‘Rupakriti 01’ was selected to be exhibited in this national exhibition. Jalaj has done a great job in his short time. He has produced numerous series in photography. Jalaj graduated in photography from Allahabad University and received numerous national and international awards for clicked photographs before his untimely demise.tnn
