Rowan-Cabarrus Community College and Pfeiffer University Announce Completion Partnership to Offer Guaranteed Admission to Transfer Students

ROWAN COUNTY, NC (WBTV) – Students at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College will soon be able to enjoy guaranteed admission to Pfeiffer University, thanks to a new bilateral articulation agreement between the two institutions. The deal was signed by leaders of both schools at a recent Rowan-Cabarrus board meeting, and students can apply for a transfer from spring 2022.

As part of its Pfeiffer Pact transfer program, the university’s agreement with Rowan-Cabarrus allows a transparent and guaranteed transfer to students in good academic standing with an average of at least 2.5. Students who have obtained an Associate’s Degree at Rowan-Cabarrus will be able to enroll at Pfeiffer as juniors, with Pfeiffer’s application fee and on-campus residency requirements waived. The Pacte Pfeiffer also provides clear advisory support so that students know exactly what courses they need to take at Rowan-Cabarrus and Pfeiffer so that they graduate on time.

The deal gives Rowan-Cabarrus graduates transfer options into more than a dozen programs, all with guaranteed financial support. Based on the 2021-2022 tuition and fees, traditional students (on campus) will receive an automatic transfer scholarship of $ 20,000 per year for a total annual cost of $ 13,470 (including all books and fees). Students who complete their degree (fully online) will receive an automatic 20% discount per year for a total annual cost of $ 8,832. Nursing students will benefit from a reduced rate of $ 189 per credit for a total annual cost of $ 5,670. Many students will be eligible for federal financial aid in addition to the reduced rates. The nursing program is a selective admission program and the GPA requirement for elementary education tracks is 2.75.

The President, Dr Scott Bullard, represented Pfeiffer at the signing, as well as the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs, Dr Daniel Mynatt, the Vice President of Enrollment Management Emily Carella and the Dean of the College of undergraduate, Dr. Michael Thompson. President Carol Spalding, VP University Programs Dr Michael Quillen, VP Student Success Natasha Lipscomb and Executive Director University Transfers and Partnerships Jenn Gardner Selby represented Rowan-Cabarrus.

“We are delighted to partner with Pfeiffer and grateful for this opportunity for our students,” said Spalding. “It’s important that our students find the right fit after graduation. Thanks to Pfeiffer’s visionary leadership and generous transfer program, Rowan-Cabarrus students now have another opportunity to attend an excellent private university in our area.

The agreement offers 14 transfer paths, including some of the most popular programs such as criminal justice technology, computer programming, accounting, business, graphic design, psychology, biology and nursing. Additional routes for primary education are expected to be added in spring 2022.

“For us, this is access for the talented and hardworking students of Rowan-Cabarrus Community College,” said Pfeiffer President Dr Scott Bullard. “Our goal is to create an atmosphere conducive to Rowan-Cabarrus students transferring to Pfeiffer. We are very happy to participate in this.
