Saluki AdLab raises funds for RSO co-founder’s memorial – The Daily Egyptian

The Saluki AdLab, a student group dedicated to advertising and graphic design, is currently raising funds to create an on-campus memorial for Corydon Vine, an SIU alumnus and co-founder of AdLab who tragically passed away on March 12, 2022.

Vine, who was 26 at the time of his death, graduated from SIU with a degree in radio television and digital media, as well as a minor in video game design. In October 2020, Vine was diagnosed with gastric cancer after a tumor was discovered in her stomach. This cancer is what ultimately led to his death.

According to the fundraising page for the memorial, Vine had a strong interest in Dungeons and Dragons (D&D). He started playing D&D in 3rd grade and he eventually met his fiancé Laney McCrary while playing D&D.

In addition to co-founding Saluki AdLab, Vine has also been involved with the SIU Chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) and spent time participating in their 2019-2020 National Student Advertising Competition.

As of this writing, the AdLab has raised just over $2,000 toward its goal of raising $25,000 for a memorial in Cory’s honor. If you are interested in donating, you can find their fundraising page here.
