CINCINNATI – For more than 50 years, the Summerfair Art Festival has attracted artists and buyers from throughout the Greater Cincinnati area and across the United States.
This year’s artists hail from as far away as Arizona and Florida, said Jayne Utter, the general manager.
Utter and a team of jurors judge more than 900 submissions each year and select approximately 350 for inclusion in the art exhibit.
“It’s the creme de la creme,” Utter said.
Customers can choose everything from artwork and sculptures to crafts and jewelry.
Utter says that for some visitors, it’s their only trip all year to experience the artwork.
“Here at Summerfair you can come and see all the art,” Utter said. “You can also buy it and take it home and we have unique pieces,” Utter said.
More than 300 volunteers help make the event a success, Utter said. Proceeds from the three-day event help fund high school, college and community art programs in the Greater Cincinnati area.
Summerfair takes place on Sunday, June 5 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Coney Island. Tickets can be purchased here.
