Doha: Ahead of Qatar Museums’ new Jeff Koons: Lost in America exhibition, which will open at QM Gallery ALRIWAQ in Doha in November 2021, global clothing retailer UNIQLO announced its first collection in collaboration with contemporary American artist world famous.
The collection, available for purchase in 24 markets operated by UNIQLO starting in late September, will feature five of Koons’ iconic sculptures expressed in the refined graphic style of Uniqlo’s UT (UNIQLO T-shirt) brand. All eight items from the UT collection will be available for purchase during the event along with a Balloon Dog (orange) t-shirt offered in a single color only available in Doha.
Exclusive early access will be extended to Culture Pass Plus and Culture Family members of Qatar museums from September 27 to 30.
A portion of the proceeds from sales will be used to finance the development of Dadu – Qatar Children’s Museum. Dadu joins Qatar’s growing network of museum institutions as the first to provide innovative frameworks and resources for child development in a place dedicated to learning and growth, encouraging children, families and educators to thrive and contribute to a sustainable future. Under the leadership of Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, President of Qatar Museums, Dadu will focus on the specific needs and phases of each child’s development, with multiple forms of play used to support learning. .

Qatar Museums will present the first exhibition in the Gulf region of the work of American artist Koons (born 1955). Opening on November 21, 2021 as part of the Qatar-United States Year of Culture 2021, Jeff Koons: Lost in America will be on view until March 31, 2022 at the QM Gallery ALRIWAQ, the large exhibition space located in MIA Park, next to the Museum of Islamic Art on the Doha Corniche. Organized by the famous curator Massimiliano Gioni, the exhibition offers a unique look at the exceptional career of one of the most famous contemporary artists, whose work bridges the gap between pop, minimalism and ready-made.
Members of the Culture Pass Plus and Culture Pass family can visit Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art from September 27 to 30 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. or at the IN-Q gift shop for preview access to the collection Jeff Koons UNIQLO.
The collection will be available for sale to the general public in person at Mathaf: the Arab Museum of Modern Art pop-up shop and online at the IN-Q gift shop at Qatar Museums from Friday.
